Accommodation
The Omni Hotel
This is our recommendation and where we ourselves will be staying for the weekend. It is centrally located and as nice as you will find in Downtown Charlottesville. It is conveniently where our shuttle buses will leave from and return to on Saturday as well as a five minute walk from our Welcome Party. Moreover, it is right at the end of the Downtown Mall for those keen to explore the town.
We have negotiated a block of rooms here at a competitive rate for those looking for alternative accommodations. It is conveniently located no more than a 10 minute walk from both the Welcome Party and The Omni.
Charlottesville has a wealth of hotels, lodges, and AirBnBs to choose from. The Doyle, The Graduate, and 200 South Street all come to mind, although we cannot personally vouch for their quality. As a general matter, we recommend choosing something within easy walking distance of The Omni.
Logistics
Getting to Charlottesville
Charlottesville Albemarle Airport (CHO)
This is generally the easiest way to get to Charlottesville. The Omni Hotel is only a twenty minute drive from the airport. Flights here are generally a bit pricier and do tend to sell out so we advise booking early. This is the best choice by far when it works but we have suffered some weather related flight cancellations from this smaller regional airport over the years.
Richmond International Airport (RIC)
Another excellent option to get to Charlottesville. Flights here are generally reliable and inexpensive. It is, however, an hour and a half drive to Downtown Charlottesville.
Charlottesville Amtrak Station (CVS)
Amtrak can be a simple, albeit slower way to get to Charlottesville for those coming from the eastern seaboard. The train station is walking distance from The Omni and even closer to Tavern & Grocery. All else equal, the North Eastern Regional train is usually more pleasant than the Cardinal or the Crescent.
Transport for The Weekend
The Welcome Party
Tavern and Grocery is no more than a five minute walk from The Omni Hotel and is very much centrally located in downtown Charlottesville.
The Wedding Day
Shuttle buses will leave from The Omni at 2:30pm sharp. We strongly recommend you use them. Once you get into the countryside, Uber becomes extremely unreliable and navigational applications have a nasty habit of sending cars down impassible unpaved roads. The shuttles will take you from The Omni to Grace Episcopal Church for the Ceremony, onward to the von Ottenritter residence for the Reception, and ultimately back to The Omni at the end of the evening.

Dress Code
The dress code for The Wedding Day is Black Tie (Mess Dress where appropriate.) Please be aware that a majority of the Reception will take place outdoors on lawn and pasture. Keep this in mind as you select your footwear or any garments which may drag on the grass.
Children
We are sadly unable to accommodate children, regardless of how much we like them.
Weather
The Reception will take place rain or shine. Arrangements have been made in case of inclement weather, but we remind our guests of the importance of sensible footwear.
Registry
We are extremely fortunate in that we truly have everything we need. Being able to celebrate surrounded by the people we love is the greatest gift we could ask for. Nevertheless, we appreciate that some of you may find this unsatisfying! We will list links below for those who insist on purchasing gifts in the coming months.
