Accommodation
The Omni Hotel
This is our recommendation, and where we ourselves will be staying for the weekend. It is centrally located and among the nicest accommodations in downtown Charlottesville. Shuttle service will depart from and return here on Saturday, and it is just a short walk from our welcome party. It also happens to sit right at the end of the Downtown Mall for those who may wish to explore the town.
We have arranged a block of rooms here at a preferred rate for those seeking alternative accommodations. It is conveniently located within easy walking distance of both the welcome party and The Omni.
Charlottesville offers a wide range of hotels, inns, and Airbnbs. The Doyle, The Graduate, and 200 South Street all come to mind, although we cannot personally vouch for them. In general, we recommend choosing accommodations within easy walking distance of The Omni.
Logistics
Getting to Charlottesville
Charlottesville Albemarle Airport (CHO)
This is usually the most convenient way to reach Charlottesville, and is our recommendation should flight times permit. The Omni is approximately a twenty-minute drive from the airport. As a smaller regional airport, schedules can be more limited, so we encourage booking early.
Richmond International Airport (RIC)
Another excellent choice, often with a wider range of flights. Richmond is approximately an hour and a half drive from downtown Charlottesville.
Charlottesville Amtrak Station (CVS)
Amtrak offers a simple, if slightly slower, option for those traveling along the East Coast. The station is within walking distance of The Omni and even closer to Tavern & Grocery. The Northeast Regional service is typically the most convenient.
Transport for The Weekend
The Welcome Party
Tavern & Grocery is no more than a five minute walk from The Omni and is centrally located in downtown Charlottesville. Please join us at your convenience.
The Wedding Day
Transportation will be arranged from The Omni to Grace Episcopal Church for the ceremony, onward to the von Ottenritter residence for the reception, and back to The Omni throughout the evening. Shuttles will depart from The Omni promptly at 2:30pm, and we strongly encourage guests to make use of them. No advance sign-up is required.
As the celebration will take place in the countryside, navigation can at times be less straightforward on smaller country roads. Rideshare options such as Uber or Lyft will not be available later in the evening.
We kindly ask that any guests intending to drive to the ceremony or reception let us know in advance, as specific directions and parking arrangements will be shared separately.

Dress Code
The dress code for the wedding day is Black Tie. Please note that a majority of the reception will take place outdoors on lawn and pasture, and we encourage guests to keep this in mind when selecting footwear or any garments which may trail.
Children
We are sadly unable to accommodate children, regardless of how much we like them.
Weather
The reception will take place rain or shine. Arrangements have been made in the event of inclement weather, though we again encourage sensible footwear.
Registry
We are extremely fortunate in that we truly have everything we need. Being able to celebrate surrounded by the people we love is the greatest gift we could ask for.
Nevertheless, we appreciate that some of you may find this unsatisfying. We will share a handful of options here in the coming months for those who insist on purchasing a gift.
